We are pleased to announce our Managed Fund Finder has been updated. It now lists more than 130 funds, and combined with our ETF Finder, Fixed Income News Australia now lists and provides information on approximately 215 fixed income funds available to Australian investors.
Amazingly, many funds achieved 9%+ returns for the rolling one-year period to 31 May 2025.
It’s been five years since we first published the managed funds list and much has changed. New additions to the list include:
- Altius (acquired by Australian Ethical)
- Arculus (administered by DDH Graham)
- FIIG Securities (recently transferred to MST Financial on sale of the company)
- Fortlake Asset Management, listed under Colonial First State, with whom it has an alliance.

There are a couple of interesting facts to note about fixed income managed funds:
- The data in each fact sheet is different, even in fact sheets produced by the same company/ entity. Gathering data is difficult, and transparency can be poor.
- Some fact sheets are excellent, including Alexander Funds, Blackrock’s iShares, Coolabah Capital, and Franklin Templeton.
- AMP and PIMCO are examples of what we would consider as lacking in transparency.
- There’s been a number of buyouts, including Legg Mason being sold to Franklin Templeton.
- Some funds have closed and been deleted from our original list.
New products are still coming to the market. If you know of any funds that we haven’t listed please let us know so we can update our list.
The list contains a wide range of providers with a very broad range of objectives. Returns and fees vary considerably. Some funds use complex investing strategies to try and outperform the market and can use currency, derivatives, or leverage which can increase risk. We would encourage you to take the time to understand how and what the managed funds are investing in, to determine if the product may be appropriate for you.
We aim to improve transparency in the sector and if a managed fund doesn’t show you key data, try asking them for it, or walk away and find another fund.
